Dryzone Damp-Proofing Cream.
Targeted treatment for Rising Damp.
Dryzone® Damp-Proofing Cream is a silicone based cream for remedial rising damp treatment. The silicone cream is injected into holes drilled along a mortar bed, and once installed, the high strength formulation spreads along the mortar before curing to form a damp-proof course. Dryzone® Cream’s innovative formula has been optimised to ensure that it is effective on a wide range of mortar types, including porous and low-alkalinity mortars typically found in old Victorian buildings.
The Problem.
When Rising Damp is found it is important to have the condition correctly treated, as failure to do so can cause damage and devaluation to any property.
It is not sufficient to simply cover up the problem with a special paint or coating in the hope that the problem will go away. Only by preventing the dampness rising up the wall in the first place can rising dampness be adequately controlled.
Chemical Treatments.
Until the introduction of Dryzone® Cream the most widely employed method of achieving this was to inject water-repellent fluids into the wall under pressure.
Although this method has proven to be effective, it is known to have a number of disadvantages; for example, it introduces large amounts of liquid
carrier into the wall, prolonging the drying out period. The process is also very slow and operator dependent.
Get it right the first time!
Dryzone eliminates rising damp in masonry walls. The patented and BBA approved cream is simply injected into holes drilled along a horizontal mortar course. Once cured, the high-performance active ingredient will provide a dampness barrier, making that mortar course into a new damp-proof course.
Powerful water repellent barrier
Outperforms competing creams in laboratory testing – Up to 4x stronger
Easy to Apply, No pressure pumps or solvent-based chemicals required
BBA Approved – at least 20 Years protection
Suitable for use in very damp walls
The World’s most extensively tested damp-proofing cream
High-strength formula with 80% active ingredient
Accredited for up to 95% wall humidity
Compatible with Dryzone System replastering specifications
Application Information for Dryzone Damp-Proofing Cream.
The booklet “Rising Damp and its Control” gives an overview of identifying and remedying rising damp and is available from Safeguard Europe.
Preparation
Remove the existing damaged and salt contaminated plaster up to 1 m above the proposed DPC line or 30 cm above the highest visible line of the rising damp in accordance with BS 6576.
Application
Set an SDS drill to rotary hammer and select a 12 mm drill bit. When treating from outside a row of holes should be drilled into the mortar course 120 mm apart and approximately 150 mm above the ground.

Assured performance
Dryzone is fully accredited
Dryzone is the most rigorously tested and accredited damp-proofing cream on the market. It has been tested by numerous national and international testing houses.
Laboratory and field testing has also shown that Dryzone outperforms creams by competing manufacturers in walls with either low or high levels of moisture saturation.
Simple, mess-free application
The cream comes in both 310 ml mastic cartridges, for isolated areas of damp, or 600 ml foil-wrapped sausages, for large or multiple jobs using the Dryzone Applicator Gun. No special powered pumps or solvent-based chemicals are required.
There is also a range of Dryzone System Tools to help application go smoothly, including the Dryzone Drillbit and Dryzone Hole Clearing Tool.
The ultimate Rising Damp renovation system
Dryzone Damp-Proofing Cream is part of the Dryzone System for renovating internal walls suffering from rising damp. This means that it is fully compatible with both Dryzone Renovation Plasters and Dryzone Express Replastering. Dryzone® has many advantages over conventional chemical injection systems
• Quick to install – no “double drilling”, no waiting for fluid to soak in under pressure
• Easy to install – less scope for operator error
• High strength formulation – does not introduce large volumes of liquid carrier into the wall
• Low hazard – non-caustic, non-flammable and not injected under pressure
• Spillage and mess virtually eliminated – no problems with fluid flooding through party walls
• Consistent application rate – easy to estimate the amount of material that will be required
• Does not require an electric DPC pump – can be used in situations where power is not available
Superior Performance
Dryzone® Cream has been tested by numerous European test houses and undergone extensive in-house testing. Results have proven that Dryzone®
Cream is highly effective in a wide range of conditions and types of walls, and show that Dryzone® Cream provides:
• Superior performance to competing products.
• High performance even in old mortar and masonry, such as that found in Victorian buildings.
• Effective treatment for cavity, rubble-infill and single leaf construction walls.
Dryzone® is also effective in situations where the wall is:
• Highly saturated
• Cold or warm
• Very porous
• Of high or low alkalinity
• Constructed using cement or lime mortar
The high performance formulation of Dryzone® Cream is trusted by professional installers around the world.

Renderguard Gold.
Standards & Accreditations CERTIFICATE 97/3363 Certificate 97/3363.
Renderguard Gold is a high-specification plaster additive that forms an integral part of the Safeguard Damp-proofing System (BBA Certificate Number 97/3363).
Following the installation of a remedial DPC (using Dryzone Damp-Proofing Cream or Dryrod Damp-Proofing Rods) correct re-plastering is of the utmost importance. Even though the DPC is effective, hygroscopic salts introduced by the rising damp may cause moisture to be attracted to the wall. This causes further dampness and decorative spoiling, giving the impression that the DPC has not been successful. It is for this reason that re-plastering following the installation of a remedial DPC must perform two functions:
It must prevent the passage of residual moisture reaching the decorative surface during the drying process.
It must prevent the passage of hygroscopic salts from the underlying masonry to the new decorative surface in order to prevent further spoiling.
Dryzone Renderguard layer build-up.
When used as an additive to a 3:1 sand-cement render, Renderguard Gold will fulfil these requirements provided that the specification is strictly adhered to. Where the use of a hard sand/cement render is not desirable, the Dryzone System fast-track replastering system should be considered. In many situations this system can allow rising damp treatment and redecoration to take place the same day.
Dryzone System Hole Clearing Tool
Dryzone System Hole Clearing tool is a high-quality metal tool for clearing dust and debris from drilled holes in masonry, ensuring maximum ease and effectiveness during the installation of Dryzone products. This Dryzone System Hole Clearing machined tool is perfectly sized to fit the 12mm diameter holes that are drilled for the installation of Dryzone DPC Cream or Dryrod DPC Rods. The tool features a knurled handle to ensure superior grip.
Dryzone Crème Applicator/Injection Gun (600ml Foil Cartridges)
Dryzone System Cream Injection Gun is specifically for use with 600ml foil packs of Dryzone DPC Cream. The cartridges are pierced and then placed inside the tube of the gun. Pressing the trigger will cause the Dryzone to move out of the nozzle, enabling the injection of the DPC cream in pre-drilled holes in the mortar course. The gun is re-usable and easily cleanable.
