How do we create new paint colours? Paint Colour Mixing!
Paint Colour Mixing, environmentally friendly Zero VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS (VOC) tints and colourants.
Where do we at Midas Paints Tygervalley draw inspiration from to create new paint colours?
Midas Paints has a long history in developing Zero VOC environmentally friendly paint with Zero VOC tints and colourants, this forward thinking has made Midas what it is today, the leading company in environmentally friendly low odour paints.
Midas Paints Tygervalley has undertaken to reduce the effect that our coatings have on both indoor and outdoor air quality. We have done this by reducing VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) content of our paint – now available to consumers as ENVIROLITE PAINT.
Where do we draw our inspiration from in developing new paint colours?
Nature has long supplied man with innovative ideas from flight to colour, a simple stroll through Ludwig’s Rose Garden, the tranquillity, calm gardens with the most beautiful colours popping out between the green leaves inspired us to create new colours.
To replicate these colours, we took some of the most striking roses to our paint mixing department at Midas Paints Tygervalley as this is where the magic and inspiration takes place. Our experienced paint colour matchers who have been eye matching paint colours for decades took on the challenge to emulate the most spectacular colours inspired my nature.
Attempting to replicate these colours was a challenge as the built environment is filled with stark materials such as Brick, Concrete, Glass and Aluminium to which we normally match colours against. The concept of replicating the tones found in natural blooms was something different and unique, this really required some very special Zero VOC tints to create the perfect paint colour match.
Our team was up for the challenge and were wholly inspired by the stunning roses from Ludwig’s Roses, the bright colours just seem to pop and come alive which inspired the team even further to create some of the most beautiful colours we have seen in the paint industry, a new era and a new dawn for colour inspired by nature! We were extremely surprised by the striking paint colours developed by our experienced mixing team as inspired by Ludwig’s Roses specially grown and developed roses, is astounding and the paint colours speak for themselves!
Green paint no longer means dull earthy colours green paint can be bright and colour without harming the environment.
Keep a close eye on our new colours and provide us with some challenges to develop new colours that have not been seen before, let these colours inspire your architectural designs and warm up interiors without compromising on the internal are quality of a space by using Midas Envirolite 0 VOC free paint and O VOC stainers.

WHAT ARE VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS (VOCs)? Envirolite Paint.
VOC’s are those compounds that give off that fresh paint smell. The odour is caused by VOC’s off-gassing into the air. VOC’s contribute to poor air quality. ENVIROLITE PAINT helps you to choose paint with less – or Zero – VOCs.
ENVIROLITE PAINT is leading the paint industry in reducing VOC – and because Midas has sourced better raw materials at better prices, ENVIROLITE Zero VOC Topcoats don’t cost any more than conventional paint. Midas Paints adopts the EU standard which defines a Volatile Organic Compound as any carbon-based substance with a boiling point of 250º C.
ANY COLOUR CAN BE ZERO VOC
Most manufacturers only stipulate the VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS content of their white paint. Adding colourants often substantially increases the VOC content of paint because most conventional colourants contain Glycol, which is considered to be 100% VOC. For this reason it should always be ascertained whether the VOC stated is for white or colour-tinted products. Within the Freeworld group we have access to colourants that are not only Glycol, APEO, Formaldehyde and Lead FREE but are also certified Zero VOC and therefore do not add to the VOC content of a tin of paint, once it has been tinted.
