Earthcote Windswept is a unique brush-on textured paint formulated with fine glass beads to create a light-reflective surface reminiscent of carpenter’s water paper. Designed for both interior and exterior use, this distinctive finish brings an elegant, weathered look to any space.
Product Features.
- Textured Aesthetic – Mimics the soft, powdery residue of well-used water paper and the subtle, misty hues found in surfboard shaping workshops.
- Durable & Versatile – Suitable for interior and exterior applications, offering a soft finish akin to traditional limewash.
- Aging & Blooming Effect – Designed to age gracefully over time, creating a naturally evolving patina.
- Customisable Colour Range – Available in 9 standard colours, with custom tinting options using eco-friendly, Zero VOC, Glycol-Free, and Formaldehyde-Free strainers.
Application & Recommendations.
- Recommended for: Exterior walls and select interior surfaces. Can be applied on both previously painted and unpainted plaster surfaces.
- Not Suitable for: Bathrooms, showers, or high-moisture areas.
Application Process:
- Ensure proper surface preparation as per Midas Earthcote guidelines.
- Apply one coat of DTE Matt (tinted to your chosen colour) using a brush or roller. Allow 4 hours to dry.
- Apply the first coat of Windswept using a Hamilton’s Block Brush or a 225mm Polypile roller. Lay off with a Hamilton’s Renovator or Block Brush and allow 4 hours to dry.
- Apply the second coat following the same method.
Coverage: Approx. 4m² per litre (varies based on surface porosity and condition).F
Overcoating Times:
Ensure 4 hours drying time between coats. To prevent contamination, do not leave longer than 48 hours between coats. If exposed to environmental contaminants, wash down the surface before continuing application.
Packaging & Cleaning
- Available in: 1L, 5L, and 20L packaging.
- Clean up: Use water.
Important Notes for Earthcote Windswept.
- Surfaces must be dry before painting (moisture content not exceeding 10%).
- Apply in ambient temperatures between 10°C – 35°C, with humidity levels between 10% – 85%.
- Textured coatings are tinted in batches; ensure sufficient quantities are ordered to maintain colour consistency.
- Aging & Blooming: UV exposure may result in natural lightening over time, particularly in direct sunlight. This is an intended characteristic of the product.
