Hand Painted fine art illustrations brings life and dimension to any space, bringing form to a feature wall, adding depth with textured look so the hand painted fine art illustrations tell a story with complexity and meaning.

“A mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall, ceiling or other permanent surfaces. A distinguishing characteristic of mural painting is that the architectural elements of the given space are harmoniously incorporated into the picture.”

Suléne Nortjé is a fine artist who transforms plain spaces and boring feature walls in mansions, stately homes and commercial spaces with a touch of magic and imagination. Suléne collaborates with Architectures, Interior Designers in both the residential and commercial spaces.

As I enter the mansion in the tree lined road in Stellenbosch, it is not the stunning antiques that catch my eye, rather the fine art illustrations that adorns the walls of the drawing room. Immediately I am caught up in the illustrations and the story takes me away…

“Scumble Glaze is an oil based product that adds cracks and distressing moving away from the flat look, creating depth allowing the illustrations to have 3-dimensional depth.  Oil-based Glaze allows more freedom to work with while Water-based Glaze is trickier and requires lots more experience to get the same results”
